ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be 17 years of age. (high school seniors require parental consent). A copy of birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age is required. Acceptable documentation for programs requiring high school diploma or GED as an entrance requirement: OR any of the following documents.

  • A copy of high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • An official high school transcript showing graduation date.
  • A copy of degree from a regionally accredited college or university or official transcript indicating the same.
  • For students completing high school in a foreign country, who are unable to produce a copy of their diploma, form BPSS-115 completed in English and the student’s native language.
  • A copy of a fully completed Department of Defense form DD-214 indicating that the applicant completed high school prior to or during his/her armed forces service.
  • An official college transcript indicating the basis of the applicant’s admission into the college program as being high school graduation.
  • If applicants do not have either one of the above credentials he/she willvbe required to take and pass the ability-to-Benefit test approved by the state.
  • Wonderlic Basic Skills Test: Cut Scores are Verbal– 200, Quantitative– 210.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE INFORMATION

School representative can discuss payment plan with student as stated in enrollment agreement.

DESIGNATED EMPLOYEES TO ASSIST STUDENTS OBTAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Students may obtain financial assistance information from our Financial Aide office. While placement service may be provided, it is understood that the school cannot promise or guarantee employment to any student or graduate.

CALENDAR AND SCHEDULE:

Student applications are accepted anytime during the month. Classes begin on the first Monday of each month. In the event this day is a legal holiday, classes will begin the following day. The school operates continuously throughout the year except for recognized legal holidays.

HOLIDAYS AND SCHOOL CLOSINGS

The school recognizes the following days as legal holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The school reserves the right to close additional days with posted notice.

STUDENT COURSE SCHEDULES:

COSMETOLOGY: 1,000 HOURS

MORNING:  25 hours weekly for 40 weeks

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 5 Hrs. daily with 1 hour lunch

MID-DAY: 17 Hours weekly for 59 weeks

  • Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 1 hour lunch break

EVENING: 42 weeks, 24 hours of 41 weeks plus 16 hours of 1 week.

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch break.

NATURAL HAIR STYLING: 300 HOURS

MORNING:  25 hours weekly for 12 weeks

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 5 Hrs. daily with 1 hour lunch break

MIDDAY:  17 Hours of 17 weeks, plus 11 hours of 1 week.

  • Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.,  & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 1 hour lunch break.

EVENING:  23 hours weekly of 13 weeks, plus1 hour of 1 day

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. –  5 p.m with 1 hour lunch break.

ESTHETICS:  600 HOURS

MORNING:  25 hours weekly for 24 weeks

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 5 hours daily with 1 hour lunch break

MIDDAY:  17 hours weekly of 35 weeks plus, 5 hours of 1 week

  • Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch.

EVENING:  23 hours of 26 weeks plus 2 hours of 1 day

  • Monday to Thursday,  6:00 p.m – 10:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch

NAIL SPECIALTY:  250 HOURS

MORNING:  25 hours weekly for 10 weeks.

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 5 hours daily with 1 hour lunch daily.

MIDDAY:  15 weeks, 17 hours of 14 weeks plus 12 hours of 1 week.

  • Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch.

EVENING:  15 weeks, 17 hours of 14 weeks, plus 12 hours of 1 week.

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. & Saturday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m with 1 hour lunch.

WAXING:  75 HOURS

MORNING:  25 hours of 3 weeks

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch daily.

MIDDAY:  15 hours weekly, 5 weeks of 15 hours weekly

  • Monday to Thurday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m with 1 hour lunch.

EVENING:  15 hours weekly, 5 weeks of 15 hours weekly.

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m & Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

GRADUATION:

The graduation requirements for all courses are as follows: (1) All students are required to maintain satisfactory progress requirements per the criteria of Satisfactory Progress Policy. (2) Take a final examination on all practical procedures, a written examination and with a score of not less than 70%. (3) Fulfill all financial obligations to the school. Certification of credits will not be provided until all tuition charges have been paid in full. (4) UPON GRADUATION A DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE WILL BE AWARDED. If required, student will be allowed to take the New York state Licensing examination.

POLICY FOR GRANTING CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Enrollment is available to students who transfer to or from other cosmetology school in or out of state. The school does not recruit students already attending or admitted to another school offering similar programs of study. The student must submit certification of hours prior to signing the registration contract. Credit for previous training and education in licensed cosmetology training program may be granted.  The acceptance of the transfer hours must first be approved by the director of the school at the directors discretion. The student must meet all regular entrance and registration requirements. Before a transfer student can be enrolled, the school director must evaluate him/her academically. The school does not guarantee the transferability of its credits to any other institution unless there is a written agreement with the institution.
